At the time of its erection, the Southern Province was present only in the States of Kerala and Tamilnadu. Most of the convents were in the diocese of Calicut; there was only one convent at Trivandrum and one in Wellington (Nilgiris). The House at Payyambalam, Kannur is considered the Mother-House of the Ursuline Mission in India.

p>At present there are 268 Professed Sisters in 29 Communities in 3 States of India: Kerala, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh. Our sisters are involved in educational, healing and socio pastoral ministries.


In October 2017 Amala Province has started a new mission at Portlaoise Parish in the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin,Ireland. Sr. Sybil, Sr. Jooly Kurian, Sr. Mareena Mathew and Sr. Jasmine John are the pioneers of this mission. sisters are involved in the pastoral activities of the parish.


On 28th February 2018, Amala Province launched in to a new mission at Bicester in the Archdiocese of Birmingham. UK. Sr. Rose Mathew, Sr. Sherly John and Sr. Sani Vijayan are the daring missionaries for this new mission.
